We just spent 9 days in Jordan over the winter holidays with AXIS Destination. We had a fantastic time experiencing the very rich and diverse historical and natural landmarks in this beautiful country. We had not fully realized how much Jordan has to offer: Greek and Roman ruins, Byzantine churches and mosaics, crusader castles and biblical sites as well as gorgeous deserts like Wadi Rum, Petra, and the Dead Sea. Everyone at AXIS was extremely professional, knowledgeable, attentive to detail and took great care COVID wise. We felt safe and well cared for every step of the way. They were also a lot of fun! Ziad has a great sense of humor and always laughing and his enthusiasm for sharing the history, culture and great food of this lovely country made the whole experience even more special. We highly recommend AXIS Destination.
In December we traveled through the Dominican Republic for the second time with the help of Dominican Expert. 5 years ago they helped us with the preparation of our wedding and planned the subsequent round trip with us by rental car. This time we have planned a round trip according to our wishes with Lara and it was just fantastic. The organization was great. All of our requests were met both in advance and during the trip. There were also tips and suggestions from Lara. We are already planning our next vacation in the Dominican Republic and will definitely be advised by Dominican Expert again.
My wife & I did the 2.5 hr tour. While we have previously driven the 17 loop on our own this guided tour took us to areas only accessible through a tour and they were pretty awesome. The guide provided extensive background on the Navajo history & traditions. It was a excellent experience!
Our guide, Yan, was just the perfect tour guide. He, of course, knew how to guide us the best way possible, but yet offered us options for one thing or another. For example, one of the options was visiting the China History Museum, which was conveniently right next to Tianmen Square. It seemed Yan was a walking encyclopedia on China. While he was very good at providing a stream of information on what we were seeing, he also was quite responsive about answering our questions. While we were in the Forbidden City, we received a ton of information while we marveled at the structures and intracacies of this place. On our day at the Great Wall, Yan was very energetic about going up and down the steep stairs on the wall. He even let me go jogging for some distance on the wall which was quite strenuous, but something I always wanted to do! Yan was also very attentive, especially at the end of our day at the Great Wall when my wife started feeling a little ill. He even offered to have the driver take us to the hospital. As it was, my wife was just tired and feeling a minor food sensitivity. She recovered quickly after some rest in the hotel. Overall, the two tours we took were tremendously enjoyable and just right for American tourists like ourselves.
